WE’re an inner tube recycling centre!

We know that there’s a lot of waste in the bike industry - there’s parts that can’t be fixed, bikes left to rust until it’s cheaper to buy new…and you’ve probably seen the shocking sight of the bicycle graveyard in China.

We know that there is always going to be waste in cycling, but if you look after your bike and keep it in good condition, you’re much more likely to ensure you can sell it on, or keep using it for years to come.

We want to be as green as possible, so we’re thrilled to have signed up with Schwalbe as a recycling centre! Their ‘recyclist’ movement means that you can drop off any of your old inner tubes with us, and we’ll pack them off to Schwalbe to be recycled.

We know this is just a small step in the bigger picture for a greener planet, but you’ve already made a great choice in using a bike to get around! So if you have any old inner tubes lying around, feel free to drop them down to our Watford bike shop, and just look out for the Recyclist sign!

We’re always looking for ways to be greener, and we’re big fans of our neighbours Refillabel who have got great ways to make your day-to-day life greener!

Here’s some ways to make your riding greener:

• Keep your bike clean and in good condition to reduce wasteful replacement of parts

• Try to patch punctures immediately and keep your tyres pumped to the correct pressure

• Sell on old bikes and bike parts (which is easier when they’re in good condition!)

• Recycle your inner tubes and tyres!
