Maintenance workshops

Learn how to take care of your bike, save money and understand the basics of bike maintenance.

bike maintenance may not sound sexy.

(but it is when we do it)

Our 2hr workshops involve coffee, cake and good chat.

Done in small groups, we only have a maximum of three people per class, in our Watford workshop. You’ll bring your bike to put in the stand and we’ll basically lead you through a full service of your bike, showing you everything you need to know along the way.

So not only do you get really useful, personalised information, but you also get a service for a fraction of the price!

Our workshops are £40/person, but we also do bespoke sessions for individuals and small groups from schools, clubs or even just groups of friends who would like to learn!

Why do a bike maintenance class?

  • Learn more about your bike and how it works, so you can fix small niggles as they happen

  • Make sure you’re never stuck out and about again, whether that’s a puncture or any other problem

  • Get personalised advice for YOU and YOUR bike - adjustments, improvements and adaptations for your riding style and goals

  • Make you love riding and feel even more independent

  • Helps to keep your bike in better condition and identify any issues, lowering your service and repair costs

What’s included in a bike maintenance workshop?

Our workshops are two hours with a break for lots of coffee and cake. They’re personalised to the group we’re working with, so it’s paced around what you need.

But there are some basics we always cover:

  • A full walk through of your bike and any issues we notice

  • A consultation with you, discussing how you feel about your bike, any improvements you’d make or things that annoy you

  • Identifying and understanding how the bike works

  • A full service that we do together, to run you through how your bike works and what to look out for

  • How to do an M check before you leave the house

  • How to fix a puncture

  • Adjustments and changes to make your bike more comfortable

  • Regular checks you can do to keep your bike in good condition

  • Tips and tricks for more comfortable riding and keeping your bike feeling great. Meaning lower servicing and repair costs!

Make it stand out.

FAQs

Do I need a fancy bike?

Absolutely not! We can run a workshop on any bike you bring in (apart from e-bike) and there is no snobbiness from us! Whatever bike you’ve got, we’re happy to help you get the most out of it. It also applies whether you’ve got a road, gravel, MTB or anything else.

Can I do the class if I can’t bring my bike?

Yes, no problem! We’ve had guests before who are in between bikes or couldn’t bring it for different reasons. Just let us know what bike you have beforehand and we’ll ensure you can practice on something similar (same systems, same style etc) so you get the most out of it.

If you can bring your bike, it’s always better, as we try to really personalise each session and help you make adjustments to your bike based on your riding style and goals.

I’m not a brilliant rider - is this good for me?

Bike maintenance is useful for anyone who has a bike! It means you understand how your bike works, how to keep it in good condition, and how to fix small things when you’re out and about.

When do you run bike maintenance workshops?

We try to run them once a month, but if we’re very busy we’ll wait for people to request them and work around their dates. So if you’d like to book in a workshop, drop us an email or give us a call. We’ll also share new dates on our email newsletter and on our instagram page.
