DMR Pedal Bike

Sale Price:£475.00 Original Price:£750.00
sold out

Introducing the DMR Sidekick bike, perfect for young riders looking to take the next big step now they have mastered balance and steering… learning to pedal. This bike is designed to be as stable as possible to learn pedalling in the saddle, with a starting point of both feet flat on the ground. The low BB and short cranks provide a low centre of gravity with confidence-inspiring handling, making it the ideal progression from a balance bike.

A longer rear end and lower centre-of-gravity helps with stability at speed also and the perfect head angle and fork design create confidence-inspiring steering for when your young rider knows exactly where they want to go (also comes in handy for when they don’t). It’s fitted with full hydraulic disc brakes to keep it all easily under control- if you can go – you need to be able to stop too! All part of the learning curve in this step.

The frame and fork are made from premium quality, lightweight and tough aluminium – the same as our pro dirt jump bikes, and just like the big bikes, we have sweated the geometry details. Simple to ride, easy to love, and fun from the get-go.

The “mullet” set up also allows for a greater bottom bracket drop (a lower crank set height); this alongside short cranks and a slack seat angle allows the rider to have their feet flat on the ground when stationary, yet with the correct leg extension whilst seated and pedalling.

The added benefit here for the Sidekick Pedal bike is that it has a low centre of gravity as the bottom bracket is well below the centres between the front and rear wheel. In simple terms, this makes the bike very stable to pedal and control.

The geometry for our pedal bike is designed to make the bike as easy to get pedalling as possible – the long wheelbase, short cranks and being appropriately geared allows for that initial push from standstill to be as easy as possible allowing the rider to get up to speed with little effort. Kids will love riding the DMR Sidekick, no doubt about that.

So now the rider can put in the pedal power – we also need to learn to control our speed, and with the size specific full hydraulic disc brakes there is plenty of easy braking power on tap that’s very easy to control. Smaller-diameter handlebars and grips make the riding experience even better for smaller hands.

The DMR Sidekick Pedal – the best new kids’ bike on the market, ready to ride, ready to pedal.

Your friendly watford bike shop

If you’ve popped into the shop before, you’ll know Shaun loves a chat. So if you just want to be a bit nosey and have a look at the workshop, find out more about what we do, or see what we’re about before you book in, come on down to our Watford bike shop in Riverside Road. We’re right by Oxhey park, and a stone’s throw from the Ebury Way.

We love visitors, and we’ve usually got a pot of coffee on. Our goal with this bike shop was to build a community of people who love the ride, and want a mechanic to love their bike as much as they do (or possibly more!) So come on down, we’d love to see you!

Where to find us

We’re in Riverside Works, Riverside Road, Watford WD19 4HY. You can find us just down the road from Oxhey Park, and at the entrance to the Ebury Way. We’re accessible from across Watford, Bushey, Stanmore, Oxhey and further afield.

There is on street parking if you’re coming by car! We look forward to seeing you.
